Children's Dentistry
Building good teeth cleaning routines at a young age is important to keeping healthy teeth for life. The following are some topics that may be discussed when your child visits the dentist:
- Teething
- Brushing techniques
- Bite (how your child’s teeth will come together)
- Habits such as thumb sucking
- Risk of decay and how to prevent it
- Nutritional advice
- Mouth guards for teeth grinding
We recommend if possible bringing your child to the clinic when you have your own check-up. This helps familiarise your child with the dentist and helps establish a positive relationship by visiting the dentist. It is generally recommended for children to see a dentist every six months, but best to speak to the dentist at your appointment for the needs of your child.
Is your child eligible for the child dental benefits schedule? If eligible your child can receive up to $1,013* of bulk billed dental benefits. Visit health.gov.au or speak to our friendly staff for more details 07 3180 3999.
