All Medicare fees have been frozen since 2012, this means that although, Cost of living and cost of doing business continues to rise, the Medicare rebates and subsidies are stagnate. This medicare rebate freeze was introduced as a “temporary” measure in 2013 as part of a A$664 million budget savings plan. However, on being elected to office in 2014, the Coalition froze the rebate after the failure of a number of proposed health policies. The rebate was frozen initially for four years, starting in July 2014 and been extended in 2016 federal budget to 2020 and potential beyond.
At My Medical & Dental Centre, we are a mixed billing practice and the cost of a consultation will vary according to the time taken and the complexity of the consultation. All new patients as of the 01/01/20 will have to pay a fee unless they have a concession card, DVA card or are under the age of 16.
We will continue to bulk bill a valid concession card holder, pension card holder, DVA card holder or children under 16 years of age at ALL times including after 5pm and weekends for new and existing patients. **(condition apply) The concession card must be presented to reception on arrival to ensure Bulk Billing.
New patients and existing patients will NOT be Bulk billed after 5pm Monday to Friday and at the weekend without a concession card, pension card, DVA card or if they are over the age of 16.
Extended hours and weekend fees differ to our week day fees as they are after hours. **(condition apply)

All fees must be paid on the day and for your convenience we provide eftpos and credit card facilities. Medicare rebates can be automatically processed at the time of payment and if you are registered with Medicare, your rebate will be transferred into your bank account within 48 hours.
If you need to cancel or change an appointment a minimum of 2 hours is required. We reserve the right to charge a fee for missed appointments and late cancellations.
We will revise fees from time to time in January and July each year.
